About Stop Valley Link
Stop Valley Link is a grassroots movement dedicated to stopping the Valley North project from compromising West Virginia’s natural environment and resources. We believe that this project offers little to no actual benefit for the people of our state, while placing the financial burden entirely on West Virginia residents to support data center development in Virginia for out-of-state corporate interests.
Our mission is to raise awareness about the true costs and minimal benefits of the Valley North project, and to mobilize community action to protect our Wild and Wonderful state. We are committed to ensuring that West Virginia’s future is determined by the needs and values of its people, not by corporate expansion at the expense of our environment and taxpayers.
The Valley North Opposition Alliance
The Valley North Opposition Alliance is a regional coalition project dedicated to connecting community organizers across the 20 counties impacted by the Valley North Transmission Line Project. Our mission is to unify our efforts, share resources, and provide a platform for collective strategy, enabling local organizers to effectively exchange organizing plans, insights, and challenges to prevent the Transmission Line Project from moving forward.
Our Initiatives
Community Awareness Campaign
We educate West Virginia residents about the Valley North project’s true costs, environmental impact, and minimal benefits to local communities through grassroots outreach and public information.
Policy Advocacy
We work to influence state policy and decision-making by presenting evidence-based arguments against the Valley North project and advocating for alternative development strategies that benefit West Virginia residents.
Community Mobilization
We organize and empower West Virginia residents to take action against the Valley North project through petitions, public meetings, and collective advocacy efforts to protect our state’s natural resources.
